meet caris-faith devore

Caris-Faith Devore is a Junior Fellow representing Liberty Technology High School. She is an active student taking part in cheer, volleyball and softball while being a member of the BETA Club. She is most interested in science, language arts and foreign languages. Caris aims for a career in medicine whether as a doctor or a nurse and sees these as good matches for her caring, compassion and overarching goal of helping people. Importantly, Caris sees Jackson’s key strengths as its educational opportunities and its public transportation. She has however observed how people can become overwhelmed believing they need to meet a certain lifestyle standard as opposed to setting and pursuing healthy goals. In terms of challenges she would like to address, Caris sees a need to improve teacher availability in key subject areas as well as some student behavior. She also believes expanding mental health awareness is essential for the community.
