hi i’m kalin…

People have a wide range of skills and strengths. You have an amazing and unique set of abilities. What do you believe is(are) your super power(s)?

“Being able to keep focus and work hard is important. I feel like I have good work techniques that help me study and keep my grades up in school. I also have a good work habits that help me out in school. I’m willing work hard for what I want when they aren’t immediately available. I'm outgoing and social so it helps me talk to people and not being afraid to get out there.”

What do you believe are the biggest strengths within your neighborhood or the bigger Jackson community?

“In the Beech Bluff community we have neighborhood watch. We all participate in trying to keep our neighborhood safe and helping each other. We all care for each other in our community and want to help our neighbors through hard times.”

What are the best opportunities for residents in Jackson to grow, learn and succeed?

“I feel like being able to go to connect with different networks or having opportunities in clubs at school are great things. Also doing volunteer work at RIFA, or at church and other places is important. It is really important to participate in events in Jackson and try to be supportive for our overall community.”

What do you see as the biggest challenges for residents in Jackson to live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives?

“Jackson is getting bigger, but there aren’t a lot of opportunities here for some occupations in the arts like movie directors, song writers and publishers. If we had more opportunities in Jackson for some of these occupations, it might open new opportunities for fulfillment for some people.”

Do you think things threaten people's ability to live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives in Jackson? If so what are those things?

“Yes, the rise of crime in Jackson keeps growing everyday. We have more threats at school and more gun violence. People in Jackson want to feel like they live in a safe environment and we need to figure out what we can do to fix these situations.”
