meet Isabela Nolasco

Isabela is a Senior Jackson Grown Fellow representing Liberty Technology High School. Isabela is an incredibly involved student and invests a great deal of time and energy in a wide range of programs at Liberty. In addition to the Jackson Grown Leader Fellowship, she takes part in the JROTC, the Mayor’s Youth Council and Beta Club. Her commitment to excellence, involvement and studiousness bode well for the road ahead of her. Her favorite subjects include language arts, performing arts, computer science and information technology. Her superpower is a deep attention to detail which can help her spot potential challenges…as well as opportunities.

In the future Isabela aims to pusue a bachelor’s degree and her dream would to serve in the Air Force. She is also interested in agriculture and the poultry industry.

“ I feel like one of my biggest strengths would be my very strong attention to details.”

What are the best opportunities for residents in Jackson to grow, learn and succeed?

“The opportunities in Jackson are vast. Whether it's participating in the Mayor's Youth Council or Leadership University, the list goes on for people in Jackson to grow and succeed.”

What do you see as the biggest challenges for residents in Jackson to live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives?

“I think the biggest challenge in Jackson at the moment would be the increasing cost of living and, unfortunately, the rising prices on pretty much everything.”

Do you think things threaten people's ability to live healthy, productive and fulfilling lives in Jackson? If so what are those things?

“I say it would be gun violence. At least close to where I live, it's a problem.”
