JOIN THE

east jackson story project

  • How do you want your neighborhood to be known?

  • What stories, people, and places should be remembered?

  • How can we use our stories to shape the future of our neighborhood?

  • How has development, rising rent, and gentrification affected East Jackson?

Interested in exploring these questions? Consider joining the East Jackson Story Project.

How will it work? A group of 8-12 members will form a Story Project Team. Through facilitated sessions, team members will identify questions about their neigbhorhood, conduct research, and document what they learn. The team will determine how to share what they learn, which might include:

  • An article in a local newspaper

  • A community mural

  • A documentary video

  • Other ways of creatively sharing our work.

  • The project will result in a community-wide celebration!
