Now in its 26th year, this Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association fundraiser is sure to get your creative juices flowing, as are all the other midtown events happening that weekend, such as the Lighting of the Lake and Cookies & Crafts with Santa. But don’t forget—homes aren’t announced until day-of!

Stretch your legs in prep for this holiday season and support the cancer community at The Varnick! In memory of John Varnick’s amazing ability to run two half-marathons during chemo, this race is a way for all skill levels to encourage those in similar situations, whether you choose to run one mile, a 5K, or the full half-marathon. Plus, all finishers get a medal!

Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Katie Howerton moved to Jackson in 2011 to study Graphic Design and Drawing at Union University. She discovered Our Jackson Home in January 2015 and used it as a guinea pig for her senior design project, creating the first issue of Our Jackson Home: The Magazine. After graduating she was given leadership over Our Jackson Home at theCO, where she now runs the blog, designs the magazine, and coordinates events. She lives with her husband Jordan and daughter November in Midtown and loves her community at City Fellowship Baptist Church.
