Hello Jackson: Grubb's Grocery
Downtown Jackson has grown so much in the last couple of years, and one of its newest residents is probably the one I’ve been the most excited about. Grubb’s Grocery, a natural and organic market, opened this spring in the Jackson Walk neighborhood, and shopping there has completely exceeded my expectations!
Grubb’s Grocery carries items in all the categories that you would expect, such as dairy, meat, produce, dry goods, health and beauty products, et cetera. You can honestly find everything you need there! One of the things I love is the “grab-n-go” lunch counter. I’ve gotten several salads there since they’ve been open, and everything is always so fresh and tasty! A more detailed list of everything Grubb’s Grocery offers can be found on their website. The most important thing to note about what you can find at Grubb’s Grocery is that everything is free of artificial ingredients.
Owner Chris Felder used his own experience with years of digestive problems to inspire his natural food focused business, and he enjoys educating people about how clean eating habits can improve quality of life. Chris started his journey almost fifteen years ago. “I’ve been in Natural Foods retail since 2001, when I co-founded the opening of The Turnip Truck in Nashville. I had begun concepting a ‘spinoff’ brand from The Turnip Truck for another location outside of Nashville. I envisioned a full-service store similar to The Turnip Truck, but geared towards a location the size of Jackson where a Whole Foods won’t soon open, and a significant segment of the population is underserved in Natural and Organic Foods by the current retail offerings. That’s where my vision for Grubb’s Grocery was born,” Chris says. After extensive research on the Jackson market, plans for the store were solidified, and now Jackson has a wonderful, locally-owned natural food market! One of the great things about the “mom and pop” nature of Grubb’s Grocery is that Chris plans to include local vendors when he can.
Whether you need a couple of natural food items, a week’s worth of groceries, or just some beer for Friday night, Grubb’s Grocery is an excellent place to shop. Besides the amazing products offered at this market, you’ll receive top-notch service and incredible atmosphere.
